How Does the PNG to PDF Converter Work?
The CompressFly PNG to PDF converter turns screenshots, charts, and graphics into PDF pages for sharing or printing. Each PNG gets its own page, so a set of images can become one document in the order you choose. You can also convert them into separate PDFs. Choose A4, Letter, or Fit to image, with images scaled to fit without cropping. Your files are processed locally in your browser instead of being uploaded to a server. Conversion is free, with no signup required.
What "processed locally" means
- Your PNG files are not uploaded to a server
- Image preparation and PDF creation happen on your device
- Your original PNG files remain unchanged
- The PDF or ZIP is created in your browser for download

PNG to PDF FAQ
How do I convert PNG to PDF online?
Convert PNG to PDF in three steps: 1. Select one or more PNG files. 2. Arrange the images and choose the page size and margins. 3. Click “Convert to PDF,” then download the PDF or ZIP.
Can I combine multiple PNG images into one PDF?
Yes. Keep “Combine all images into one PDF document” selected. Each PNG becomes one page, and the PDF follows the image order in the workspace. You can reorder, rotate, or flip images before converting.
Can I batch convert PNGs into separate PDF files?
Yes. Turn off “Combine all images into one PDF document” to create a one-page PDF for each PNG. When you convert more than one image, the separate PDFs are downloaded together in a ZIP file.
Can I choose A4 pages or save a PNG as a borderless PDF?
Yes. Choose A4, Letter, or another standard paper size in portrait or landscape. For a page that follows the image’s shape without an added border, choose “Fit to image” and set the margin to “None.” Fixed-size pages may still have white space if the image and page have different proportions. Borders already inside the PNG are not removed.
Will my PNG keep its transparent background in the PDF?
No. Transparent PNGs are converted with a white background. Transparency is not preserved in the PDF.
Will converting PNG to PDF change the image quality or file size?
The images are re-encoded when the PDF is created, so conversion is not lossless and some detail may change. Converting a low-resolution screenshot does not add detail, and the PDF is not guaranteed to be smaller than the original PNGs. If you need a smaller document, try Compress PDF.
Does converting a PNG screenshot to PDF make the text searchable?
No. Text in a screenshot or scanned PNG stays part of the image. This converter does not perform OCR or add a searchable text layer.
Can I combine PNG and JPG images in the same PDF?
This page accepts PNG files only. To combine PNGs with JPGs or other supported image formats, use the Image to PDF converter.
Is PNG to PDF free, and are my files uploaded?
Yes, the converter is free, with no registration or credit card required. Your PNG files are processed locally in your browser rather than uploaded to a server.
