How Does the TIFF to PDF Converter Work?

The CompressFly TIFF to PDF converter turns TIFF scans and images into PDF pages directly in your browser. Bring separate scans together as one document in the order you need, or create a separate PDF for each file. You can use A4 or Letter pages for printing, or let the pages follow the images’ proportions. Your files are processed locally instead of being uploaded to a server, and the original TIFFs stay unchanged.

What "processed locally" means

  • Your TIFF files are not uploaded to or stored on a processing server
  • Image previews and conversion are handled on your device
  • The finished PDF or ZIP is created in your browser

Multiple TIFF Files vs. a Multi-Page TIFF

Combining several scan files is different from converting all the pages stored inside one TIFF.

One Scan per TIFF File

Combine the files into one multi-page PDF, or save a separate PDF for each scan. Each file contributes one page, in the order shown in the workspace.

Several Pages in One TIFF

Only the first image is converted; the remaining TIFF pages are not included. To create a complete PDF, export those pages as separate TIFF files before adding them here.

Why Use CompressFly to Convert TIFF to PDF?

Easy to Use

Create a PDF copy of your TIFF scans without learning specialist imaging software. The simple workspace is useful when you need a document rather than a full image-editing workflow.

No Specialist Installation

Work with TIF and TIFF files directly in your browser. There is no separate viewer or desktop conversion package to set up before preparing the PDF.

Easier Document Sharing

A PDF copy is convenient for people who do not normally work with TIFF images. Individual scans can become documents suited to everyday viewing and submissions.

Less Repetitive Work

Prepare a collection of separate TIFF scans in one session. Keeping the files in one workspace is easier than repeating the same conversion for each scan.

Free Conversion

An occasional scan should not require buying specialist software. Create and download your PDF copies without a subscription or account.

Private Scan Handling

Scanned records often contain information you would rather keep to yourself. Conversion takes place locally, so your TIFF files are not sent to a processing server.

TIFF to PDF FAQ

How do I convert TIFF to PDF online?

1. Add your TIFF or TIF files. 2. Arrange the images and choose the PDF page size and margins. 3. Click “Convert to PDF,” preview the result, and download it.

Can I combine multiple TIFF files into one PDF?

Yes. Leave “Combine all images into one PDF document” selected. Each TIFF file becomes one PDF page, and the page order follows the workspace. You can rearrange the scans and rotate any that are sideways before converting.

Will all pages of a multi-page TIFF appear in the PDF?

No. This converter uses the first image in each TIFF file, not every page stored inside it. Export the pages as separate TIFF images first if you need a PDF containing the whole document.

Can I batch convert TIFFs into separate PDF files?

Yes. Turn off “Combine all images into one PDF document” to create a one-page PDF for each file. With multiple TIFFs, the separate PDFs are downloaded together in a ZIP. A single TIFF produces a PDF download directly.

Can I choose the PDF page size?

Yes. Choose A4, Letter, or another standard paper size, with portrait or landscape pages and optional margins. “Fit to image” makes each page follow the image’s proportions; it does not guarantee the original scan’s physical print dimensions.

Will converting TIFF to PDF change the quality or file size?

The converter re-encodes images as JPEGs, so some fine detail may change. Keep the original TIFFs if you need a lossless master copy. The PDF is not guaranteed to be smaller; use Compress PDF if you need to reduce the document’s size.

Does converting a TIFF scan to PDF make the text searchable?

No. Scanned text remains part of the image. This converter does not perform OCR or add a searchable text layer, so saving a scan as a PDF does not make its text selectable or editable.

Which image files does this TIFF to PDF converter accept?

Both .tif and .tiff files. To combine TIFF scans with JPGs, PNGs, or other supported image formats in the same PDF, use the Image to PDF converter.

Is TIFF to PDF free, and are my files uploaded?

Yes, it is free, with no registration or credit card required. Your TIFF files are processed locally in your browser, not uploaded to a processing server. No software installation is required.
