How Does This PDF Merger Work?

The CompressFly PDF merger combines complete documents or selected pages into one PDF. In Files view, each document is added in the file order you choose. In Pages view, you can mix pages from different PDFs, leave out unwanted pages, and correct their orientation before merging. Existing text and images are copied into the new document. Your PDFs are processed locally in your browser, and the original files remain unchanged.

What "processed locally" means

  • Your PDFs are not uploaded to a server
  • Merging takes place on your device
  • Passwords are handled in your browser
  • The combined PDF is created locally for download

Why Use CompressFly to Merge PDF Files?

Easy to Use

Bring related PDFs together without learning a document-editing suite. The visual workspace makes it straightforward to prepare a complete document from the files you already have.

Everything in One Place

Assemble the document and tidy up its pages in the same merger. You do not need a chain of separate tools just to get the combined file ready.

Less Attachment Clutter

One PDF is easier to send and keep track of than several related files. Recipients can read the material together without working out which attachment comes next.

No Installation Needed

Combine your documents directly in the browser. There is no desktop PDF editor or extension to install for a simple merge.

Free Without Signup

Put together a report, application, or document pack without a subscription. The merger is free to use, with no account or payment details required.

Private Document Assembly

Contracts, records, and other private PDFs stay on your device while they are combined. The browser creates the finished document without uploading the source files for processing.

Merge PDF FAQ

How do I merge PDF files online?

Merge PDFs in three steps: 1. Add two or more PDF files. 2. Arrange complete documents in Files view, or arrange and remove individual pages in Pages view. 3. Click “Merge PDF,” preview the result, and download the combined document.

Can I combine selected pages from different PDFs?

Yes. Pages view shows the pages from every added PDF. Remove the pages you do not need, drag the remaining pages into order, and rotate any that need correcting. Merge from Pages view to create the PDF using those edits.

Can I merge PDFs with different page sizes or orientations?

Yes. The merged PDF can contain different page sizes and a mix of portrait and landscape pages. Merging does not automatically resize them to one paper size.

Does merging PDFs reduce their quality?

The merger copies existing page content without converting pages into images or recompressing their photos. Selectable text stays as text. Scanned text remains part of the scan; merging does not add OCR.

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?

No. Your PDF files are opened and merged locally in your browser. The documents and any passwords you enter are not uploaded to a processing server.

Will merging PDFs make the file smaller?

Not necessarily. Merging combines page content rather than compressing it, so the result is not guaranteed to be smaller than the source files combined. Use the Compress PDF tool if you need to meet an upload size limit.

Will bookmarks, forms, attachments, and digital signatures be preserved?

The merger creates a new PDF from the selected pages. Document features such as bookmarks, interactive forms, attachments, and digital signatures may not carry over unchanged. Keep the original files when those features matter.

Is this PDF merger free to use without an account?

Yes. Merge PDF files for free, with no registration, credit card, or software installation required.
